If you are knocking around Dublin next weekend – 22nd & 23rd February – think about popping along to a new parenting festival taking place in O’Reilly Hall in UCD. BabyTalk has a really interesting line up of speakers and exhibitors and I’m delighted to be taking part in a panel discussion on Sunday afternoon on one of my favourite topics Good Information versus Bad Advice – online parenting support and information.
I’m in excellent company for the discussion including my great friend and fellow blogger Lisa over at www.mama.ie. Also taking part are Niamh Healy from Cuidiu, my lovely colleague Krysia Lynch from AIMS Ireland and Emily Manning, editor of www.eumom.ie. We’ll be talking about:
- the main types of resources available to Irish parents and parents-to-be online
- the drawbacks and downsides of the online parenting world and how to spot and negotiate these
- the positive aspects of the online parenting community
We’re on stage at 4pm. Do pop over and say hi. I’d love to meet you!
For more information about the Babytalk Festival, visit their website at www.babytalkfestival.ie. The festival runs all day Saturday and Sunday and tickets are priced at €10 for a day pass or €15 for the full weekend. Children and grandparents go free.
