Irish charities have taken a bit of a kicking this week with all of the controversy around top up payments to senior staff. The timing is just awful with Christmas just around the corner and charities need our help now more than ever to help the most vulnerable in our society over the winter and holiday period.
Children in Hospital, Ireland is just one of those charities. It is a volunteer-based programme, reaching out to sick children and their families. The organisation recruits, trains and vets volunteers from all around the country who provide play and happiness to sick children in their local hospitals.
Children in Hospital, Ireland has this year partnered with the Disney Store in Grafton Street as part of the the Disney Store’s annual “Share in the Magic” charity campaign, which invites families across Ireland to post their letters to Santa at the shop or online here where a letter can be created and posted virtually with each participant receiving a special video message from Mickey Mouse and friends.
For every letter posted in the Grafton Street shop or online, the Disney Store will donate a soft toy to children through Children in Hospital Ireland. There’s still 22 sleeps left til Santa comes so there’s plenty of time to pop your letters in to the Disney Store to help some sick kids get some lovely cuddly toys.
Disclosure: I attended the launch of the Share in the Magic campaign and received a gift voucher from Disney while attending this event. However, I did not receive any additional payment for writing this post.
